I have noticed my iPhone battery life has been shorter these days. And no, its not from playing games on my iPhone hah! I have not done anything different for the past few months but my battery life seem to have changed.
Its quite a challenge for iPhone users. We cant just buy back up battery and keep changing them. Unless we buy battery extenders. But before you do, here are some helpful tips I found by researching online for prolonging iPhone's battery life.
Lock Your iPhone - This is not only for security purpose. This is good for saving your battery too. You may find the Auto-Lock feature in your phone settings.
Drain the Battery - I have been doing this practice since I first owned a cellphone. I drain my battery once a week.
Turn off Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth - Turn off these features when not in use.
Turn off 3G - Personally I hardly turn my 3G on and it works perfectly fine. I only turn this on when I need a faster connection and when I am in a hurry to download something or access something online.
Dim the Screen - I was told this helps. Turning off the Auto-Brightness settings also works.
Airplane Mode - Yup! Even if you are not inside an Airplane :) Use this when you do not want to be disturbed. iPhone constantly seek a cellular connection that drains the battery, airplane mode is useful if you are in an area with poor signal or cellular coverage.
Force Quit Applications - Force quit application if an app quits unexpectedly.
Reset iPhone - Hold down the home and sleep button simultaneously until Apple logo appears. Resetting can fix a faulty battery indicator and end applications that are improperly eating up the battery life.
Applications - I have apps (more likes games haha!) that use location services and push notifications constantly. This drains iPhone battery quickly.
There should be more helpful tips online but these are some of the practices I do personally for my iPhone. I just hope Apple comes out with a better upgrade or update for this issue.
