Symbian – an OS to reckon with
Symbian is an operating system used for mobile device and most types of Nokia phones presently use it.
This serves as an effective computing platform and was originally created by Symbian and today, Nokia has acquired it. They provide a user smooth, fluent and hitch - free usage of their device and has earned many people’s appreciation across the globe.
Features of Symbian
A key feature about this mobile operating system is that is has a graphics based toolkit called AVKON. This was earlier known as Series 60 and its design is to work with a standard telephone keypad or a mini QWERTY keyboard as is found in most smart phones of today. AVKON is a software that is compatible with binary of all iphone versions, the latest being Symbian^3. This latest version of Symbian uses QT Framework, which means that applications developed using this framework come with Graphical User Interface and it is currently used in many notable applications, a few of them being Adobe Photoshop, VLC Media Player, DreamWorks, Virtual Box, Panasonic, Phillips, Samsung, Volvo, Siemens and even Walt Disney Animation Studios.
Games, themes and applications
There are wide varieties of Symbian games that are compatible with a Symbian operating system and a few of them rated according to popularity are Most Wanted Need, Super Mario Planet, Tomb Raider Under World, Resident Evil, and Need for Speed. Other Symbian applications include Metal Gear solid 3D, Wanted, Nokia Movie Maker, Mp3 Player, Moto GP 07 and a host of other games as well.
Nokia has a large number of Symbian themes and Symbian applications, which can be downloaded, either for free or after payment from various websites. However, one must be careful when downloading featured iphone 5 that cost money, as they can be frauds or come with malware attached to them. This can cause breakdown of one’s phone and therefore one must be careful to download them from trusted websites only.
