You should NEVER get a tethered jailbreak even if there is no other way to go. When you tether your device you can't turn it on unless you have a computer with you at all times (most don't).When your device is tethered you shouldn't have a passcode because if someone disables you wont be able to do back up your device to do the tethering, it can also cause your device to brick and without a passcode your phone is free to anyone that picks it up.Its better to just go with an untethered jailbreak.
When you jailbreak if you start to experience any different types freezes this usually happens when you download a specific app make sure to delete and re-download it if it still causes problems,delete it and don't download it again this app is defective,if you still really want it I recommend emailing the creator to make an update and fix the bugs.
